About

The Fuquay-Varina Economic Development Commission is a non-profit [501(c)3] organization. The Commission was incorporated in January 2006 and appointments made by the Fuquay-Varina Industrial Managers' Association, the Town and the Fuquay-Varina Area Chamber of Commerce formed the board of directors.

Two members are appointed by each of those organizations. The six appointees choose an at-large director. There are two ex-oficio representatives-the Town Manager and the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

The board is responsible for developing the by-laws and mission statement, determining the scope of the program and measurable goals, selecting a director and determining staffing requirements, developing a fundraising process and monitoring the program when it is established.

The Commission is an independent entity, which enables the organization to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
